One common complaint is the lack of access to high-quality and affordable arm prosthetics. Some individuals find it challenging to obtain the latest and most functional prosthetic arms due to cost barriers or limited availability in certain regions of New Zealand. This disparity in access can significantly impact the daily lives and overall functionality of amputees, hindering their ability to perform basic tasks and engage in activities they enjoy. Another issue that has been raised is the discomfort and fitment of arm prosthetics. Ill-fitting or poorly designed prosthetic arms can cause physical discomfort, irritation, and limited range of motion for the wearers. This not only affects their physical well-being but also their mental health and confidence in using the prosthesis in public settings. Furthermore, the lack of customization and personalization options for arm prosthetics in New Zealand has been a point of concern for many individuals. Each amputee has unique needs and preferences, and having limited choices in terms of design, color, and functionality can lead to dissatisfaction with the prosthetic device. In response to these complaints, it is important for healthcare providers, prosthetic manufacturers, and policymakers in New Zealand to work together to address these issues. By increasing access to affordable and high-quality arm prosthetics, ensuring proper fitment and comfort, and offering customization options, amputees can experience improved mobility, independence, and quality of life. Overall, while there have been complaints regarding arm prosthetics in New Zealand, it is crucial to continue improving the accessibility, comfort, and functionality of these devices to meet the diverse needs of amputees and help them live life to the fullest.
